BJP plans to take on CM Siddaramaiah over Arkavathy layout de-notification

The News Minute | September 1, 2014 | 4.42 pm ISTThe Karnataka BJP is preparing to take on Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in a legal fight over the Arkavathy layout de-notification issue.State BJP President Prahlad Joshi on Monday headed a core-committee meeting in the party office which senior BJP leaders such as K S Eshwarappa, D V Sadananda Gowda, B S Yeddyurappa, Jagadish Shettar, Anantha Kumar, are said to have participated. The most important point on the agenda of the meeting is to discuss obtaining the assent of the governor to initiate legal proceedings against Siddaramaiah. This gains significance in the backdrop of the new governor taking the oath of office on Wednesday. The BJP will also discuss a report prepared by an internal committee of the party, formed to look into illegal denotification. The committee was headed by former minister Suresh Kumar. Besides this, the core committee will also discuss the allegations against Railway Minister Sadananda Gowda’s son Karthik Gowda, made by actor Maitreya.
