Ukraine to be recreated in India for Rajinikanth’s 2.0

Written by : TNM

The makers of Shankar’s 2.0 were in Ukraine a few months ago to shoot a duet featuring the film’s lead pair – Rajinikanth and Amy Jackson.

It turns out the team had not gone to shoot, but to capture some breathtaking scenic locations in an effort to recreate the same in India with the support of visual effects. Apparently, the only song from the film was shot in a set in India and it needs to be further improved upon, with the help of VFX.

Some very popular VFX companies are working on the film and Shankar felt it’d be easier to make use of their expertise than going through the hassle of going to Ukraine and shooting. It has also been learnt that the principal shooting of the film will be wrapped by January 2017 and nearly six months will be spent on the post-production.

Currently filming key portions in Chennai’s MGR Film City, 2.0 features Akshay Kumar as the prime antagonist. Amy Jackson, who had previously worked with Shankar in Ai, has teamed up with Rajinikanth for the first time.
