Trisha stuns everybody with daring stunts in Garjanai

Written by : TNM

After finding her mojo back with last year’s releases Kodi and upcoming Sathuranga Vettai 2, Trisha has an interesting line-up of films up her sleeve. Not willing to play a romantic interest to lead stars anymore, she is aiming to go solo in author-backed roles. In her upcoming film Garjanai, reportedly a remake of Anushka Sharma’s critically acclaimed Hindi film NH 10, she has featured in some spine-chilling action sequences sans a body double.

Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, the film’s director Sundar Balu said: “Garjanai is a travel story, with several real-life inspirations. Trisha plays Madhu, a western dancer, who goes to Kodaikanal for an event, where she gets trapped. How she gets out of her predicament forms the rest,” Sundar said. He added, “Trisha has performed a few high-octane stunts for the film, without the help of a dupe. Her introduction scene is a fight sequence, where she was made to roll on the road for a while. She had bruises on her hands and legs, but being the thorough professional that she is, she didn’t take it seriously and continued the shoot.”

Bankrolled by Century Film International, Garjanai also stars actors Amit Bhargav as Trisha’s boyfriend and Vamsi Krishna, Vadivukarasi, Sriranjani, ‘Madurai’ Muthu and ‘Jangiri’ Madhumitha in pivotal roles.

The film will have music composed by Amresh and Chitti Babu is cranking the camera. Trisha might also be singing a solo track in the film. She made her singing debut in last year's film Nayaki.
