Written by : TNM

The News Minute | October 5, 2014 | 10:37 am ISTFor women, jeans may soon go out of fashion, thanks to veteran singer KJ Yesudas. Hot pants and skirts may soon replace the overrated trousers. When the singer recently made a comment asking women not to wear jeans and to "make sure that you hide all that should be hidden”, it stirred the hornet's nest. Such comments policing what women should and should not wear is hardly uncommon in India, and the social media has been abuzz with discussions and debates- some condemning Yesudas, some sharing his views, while few others feeling that the issue was simply being stretched out of proportion. Democracy and Right to speech being the explanation. Read: Singer Yesudas says women wearing jeans forces people to look at other parts of bodyBut there were also those who decided to give him a piece of their mind on the social media. Many seem to have decided to follow his suggestion and they may give up wearing jeans. Yesudas is right. Women should not wear jeans, they should wear only micro minis and hot pants.— E-tard (@14_yr_old_Etard) October 3, 2014In honour of #yesudas , off to the airport in my most comfy pair of jeans to 'trouble' fellow travellers !— Rana Ayyub (@RanaAyyub) October 3, 2014Singer Yesudas asks women to avoid wearing jeans so as to not titillate men.
