The Kannada film, Bahaddhur, was a big hit when it hit the silver screens in 2014.

Starring Dhruva Sarja in the lead role, there was a huge competition among the producers to bag its remake rights.

Eventually, leading Tollywood producer Allu Aravind went on to bag the remake rights of Bahaddhur.

When asked about the status of the film, sources said that plans are on to cast Allu Aravind’s nephew, Ram Charan Teja in the lead role of this remake.

The star is currently busy with the Sukumar directorial and will be deciding on this remake only after he is done with it, add sources.

Ram Charan had joined the sets of RC 11 recently and will be giving it his full attention for the next few months. 

The project, in fact, needs his undivided attention as he plays a rustic villager; something that he has not done in his career so far.

With a complete transformation, right from his looks to body language to costumes, Ram Charan has got into the skin of the character.

Meanwhile, reports about the Bahaddhur remake are that Allu Aravind’s son and leading Tollywood actor Allu Arjun may give a voice over for the film.

Incidentally, Puneeth Rajkumar had done the voice over for the original.

Bahaddhur, directed by Chethan Kumar and produced by Sreenivas, had Dhruva Sarja and Radhika Pandit in the lead roles.

It was the first Kannada movie to release in 7.1 surround sound, was a box office success, and did well both in India and overseas.

Made on a budget of Rs. 9 crore, the film is reported to have collected Rs. 10 crore within its two-week run at the box office.
