Written by : TNM

The 1971: Beyond Borders team returned from Georgia last weekend after wrapping up the shooting. Soon after the return, there were various reports about the film’s release with speculation high that it would be a Vishu release. However, the official news is that 1971: Beyond Borders will be out on April 7, 2017, which is a week before the festival.

Apart from Mohanlal, the film also stars Allu Sirish, son of ace Tollywood producer Allu Aravind and younger brother of actor Allu Arjun. It will mark the star’s debut in Mollywood. Bollywood actor Arunodhay Singh, who was seen in Jism 2, is also playing a crucial role in the film. Asha Sharath will be seen as the female lead and other stars in the cast include Renji Panicker, Sudheer Karamana, Saiju Kurup, Krishna Kumar, Manikuttan, Zoya Zayed Khan and Priyanka Agarwal.

Mohanlal will be appearing in dual roles – as Major Sahadevan (dad) and Major Mahadevan (son). Directed by Major Ravi, who had wielded the megaphone for Mohanlal’s Keerthi Chakra, Kurukshetra and Kandahar, the film is produced by Red Rose Creations. As can be guessed from the title, 1971: Beyond Borders is a film about the Indo-Pak war that took place in 1971.
