News that Ajith has hurt himself on the sets of Vivegam has his fans across the globe worried. The star was performing a daredevil fight sequence when the mishap occurred, injuring him in the shoulders. Apparently, Ajith had the option to use a body double for this stunt sequence but he insisted on doing it himself which led to the accident.

The star was immediately given first aid and was on medication for some time, add sources. It is learnt that Ajith did not want the news about his injury leaking out to the media as it would have his fans worried and distressed. However, it did find its way out, thanks to some sources close to the Vivegam film unit.

This is not the first time that Ajith has been injured on the sets as he has met with a couple of accidents while shooting for films earlier. In fact, he had to stay out of action for nearly eight months after completing Vedhalam as he had to undergo a surgery. Sources close to the film unit say that Ajith has recovered from the injuries with medication, rest and therapy and there is nothing to worry.

Vivegam, directed by Siva, is in the final stages of production. The shooting is currently on in Europe and the team will be returning to Chennai soon. Starring Kajal Aggarwal and Akshara Haasan as the female leads, Vivegam also has Bollywood actors Vivek Oberoi and Arav Chowdhury playing the antagonists.

Anirudh Ravichander is the music composer for this magnum opus that is being bankrolled by Sathya Jyothi Films’ Senthil Thyagarajan, Arjun Thyagarajan and T. G. Thyagarajan. The film is getting ready for a massive release on August 10th to cash in on the long Independence Day weekend.
