Apollo Hospitals in Chennai’s Teynampet on Thursday, July 24 released a press statement saying that Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin is healthy and expected to resume his normal work in two days. The CM was admitted to the hospital on July 21 complaining of mild giddiness.
In the press statement, Dr Anil BG, Director of Medical Services at Apollo Hospitals, said that the CM underwent various investigations for symptoms related to giddiness, and that they revealed that the symptoms were due to variations in heart rate.
“Based on the opinion of the Medical Experts Committee led by Interventional Cardiologist Dr G Sengottuvelu, the Honourable Chief Minister underwent a therapeutic procedure this morning to correct these variations. The diagnostic Angiogram done today was normal. The Honourable Chief Minister is healthy and is expected to resume his normal routine in two days' time,” he added.
Sources within the DMK had said the Chief Minister’s condition was stable, but that his visit to Coimbatore and Tiruppur districts – which had been scheduled for July 22 – would proceed after medical advice.
Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, the Chief Minister’s wife Durga Stalin, daughter Senthamarai, Water Resources Minister Duraimurugan, and Health Minister Ma Subramanian visited the hospital to check on the CM.
