A 35-year-old woman died and her 40-year-old husband sustained serious injuries, after the couple's relatives allegedly pushed them off a balcony, in their second-floor flat at a building in IDH Colony in Hyderabad's Bansilalpet area on Monday.

The incident took place at around 9.30pm when Chandu, and his wife Jayashree had a quarrel with his sister Mira Bai and her family, over the ownership of two flats in the colony.

Gandhi Nagar inspector A Sanjeeva Rao told the Times of India, "Chandu and Jayashree refused to give Mira Bai a share in the property. Angry with the response, Mira Bai and her children dragged the couple to the balcony and pushed them over the parapet. The two suffered serious injuries and were rushed to Gandhi Hospital."

Jayashree was rushed to a hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment.

“We are still verifying if the property has been partitioned and who is the legal owner,” the Inspector told Deccan Chronicle.

Police has booked a case against four people, who have been taken into custody.
