Telangana makes efforts to bring slain student's body from US

 The Telangana government on Monday requested the external affairs ministry to take necessary steps to transport to Hyderabad the body of a student shot dead in the United States.A. Sai Kiran, a student from Hyderabad pursuing his MS, was shot dead by unidentified people in Miami, Florida on Sunday. Chief Minister K.Chandrashekhar Rao expressed his condolences to the family members of the 22-year-old student.In a statement here on Monday, the chief minister said that with Sai's death, Telangana has lost a bright student. The chief secretary requested the Indian consulate to take necessary steps for the transportation of the dead body from Florida at the earliest.According to information reaching Sai Kiran's family in Hyderabad, he was standing near his apartment when some unidentified people shot him dead after he resisted their attempts to snatch his iPhone.  Sai finished his BTech degree in 2015 from Geetanjali Engineering College, Keesara, and went to Miami on May 2 his year. His father Srihari runs a borewell drilling machinery manufacturing unit at Kushaiguda industrial area.IANS
