TDP protests Speaker's decision to accept MLAs who defected to TRS

Written by : PTI

The TDP on Friday said it will challenge the decision of the Telangana Assembly Speaker to recognise 12 of its MLAs, who have defected to TRS, as the members of the ruling party in the House.

"This is a violation of the Constitution We will fight this in courts," Telangana TDP president L Ramana said in a statement.

The 12 TDP MLAs were recognised as TRS members as per their request to the Speaker last month.

Meanwhile, two of these 12 MLAs, M Gopinath and A Gandhi, formally joined the TRS on Friday.

The strength of TDP in the Assembly has now fallen to three from 15.
