Suspected terrorist arrested in Hyderabad last week reveals potential of IEDs laced with poison

The News Minute | November 24. 2014 | 7:50 am ISTMyanmar national Mohammed Khalid who was arrested in Hyderabad last week with connections to the Burdwan blast case has added a new cause of concern for investigatorsKhalid has allegedly confessed to training several people in the Rohingya Solidarity Organization (RSO) to use various kinds of poisons and target water tanks while making chemical-laced weapons.According to a report in the Times of India, this is the first time intelligence agencies have found that IEDs could be laced with poison. This way, sharp metal objects around the blast site have a higher chance of killing a victim rather than just wounding them.Khalid was arrested in Hyderabad last week, on November 18, by the National Investigation Agency in possession of Jihadi literature and videos pertaining to making and detonating IEDsKhalid is in judicial custody in Kolkata, as of now in connection to the Burdwan blast case.
