SOP formulated for RGIA, CCTV surveillance and security to undergo major boost

The News Minute | January 7, 2015 | 8:30 am ISTA Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) has been formulated for the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Hyderabad, keeping in mind the regular terror alerts that it faces.The SOP dictates how security agencies should react in the event of a crisis like hostage taking, hijackings, bomb blasts and other situations caused by terror outfits.According to a report in the Times of India, the SOP involves anti terror out fits like the National Security Guard (NSG), OCTOPUS, Central Industrial Security Force (CSIF) and the Cyberabad police.The police also added that central intelligence had been sending regular inputs to the state to beef up security at the RGIA. Plans are also on going to install high-definition CCTV surveillance cameras on the 11 km NH7 stretch that connects to RGIA.Tweet
