RSS opposes Telangana govt decision to increase reservation for Muslims to 12 percent

Coming down heavily on the Telangana government for its decision to increase reservation quota for Muslims to 12%, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh on Sunday said that the move was to appease the minorities.

The RSS said that government's minority appeasement had divided and destroyed India, reported The New Indian Express.

RSS Joint General Secretary Krishna Gopal said that 83% of the Hindu population is against this reservation for the minorities.

Speaking at the Vijayadasami celebrations organized by the RSS in Hyderabad, he said that India’s former Home Minister Sardar Vallabhai Patel, who headed a committee on minority welfare, had said decades ago that a community which can cause the partition of the nation, cannot be considered a minority community.

The RSS leader further said that Vallabhai Patel was of the opinion that the minority who had difficulty in staying the country without reservation can migrate to other countries.

Talking about the discrimination in the Hindu society, Gopal said that the foul practice of untouchability was brought by outsiders.

Further talking about the killings of RSS workers, Gopal said that 400 RSS supporters were killed in Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

He alleged that 35 RSS supporters were killed in Kerala this year alone, TNIE reported.
