A woman was allegedly attacked by her husband on her neck with a blade near the premises of a Hyderabad court in Rajendranagar on Monday.

“The incident took place when the couple, Nagendranath and Saujanya, had come to the court in connection with a domestic violence case,” Rajendranagar police station inspector Umender said.

“Nagendranath attacked Saujanya with a blade following an argument after they came out of the court,” he added.

A case of attempt to murder has been registered in this regard, the officer said, adding investigations are underway.

A report in NDTV adds that Soujanya had approached the court, seeking directions to her husband to pay maintenance. She had complained that he had not been giving her money for monthly expenses and also alleged that he had been having an extra-marital affair.
