Charred body of woman found in Hyderabad

The charred body of a woman employee of a private call centre company was found in Hyderabad on Wednesday afternoon, police said.

The victim has been identified as K Sunita. A resident of Secunderabad, she was a tele-caller in a call centre. 

“The body was burnt completely and it was hard to be identified, we found her half-burnt purse, and traced her sim card. We informed her relatives and found out that on Wednesday morning, her brother had dropped her at Secunderabad Railway Station,” said Inspector Shanshank Reddy.

However, when she did not return home in the evening, her family called her office but learnt that she did not turn up.

Her body was found in Madhapur area of Hyderabad. 

Police suspect the 33-year-old was raped and murdered before the body was set afire.

The body has been sent for autopsy. 

Police have begun investigations and formed special teams. 

CCTV footage of the railway station and surrounding areas is being analysed to gather clues.

“We have registered a case under section 302 (murder) and section 201 (Causing disappearance of evidence) of IPC,” he added.
