BJP to mark fourth anniversary of Telangana Poru Yatra

The News Minute | January 16, 2015 | 9:10 am ISTThe Telangana state division of the BJP is planning a series of activities to mark the fourth anniversary of Telangana Poru Yatra which is the first after the formation of Telangana on January 19.According to a press release, state party president G. Kishen Reddy is planning to visit the entry point of river Krishna into the state in Krishna village and offer prayers followed by a meeting. On 19 January 2012, Kishan Reddy started the 22-day Telangana 'Poru Yatra', a journey of 3500 km in the state, to touch 986 villages and 84 assembly constituencies stressing the need for Telangana. The tour was successful in reiterating the party's pro-Telangana stance.Without the support of the BJP, separate Telangana wouldn’t have seen the light of the day,” N.
