When ambulances go on strike for a day

The 108 Ambulance Workers Union in Tamil Nadu decided to go on strike for 24 hours on the demand of a bonus, said The Hindu. This is not a one-time issue, despite six years of work, they have not received a single year’s bonus, said the State organizing secretary of the Union, T. Siva Kumar. A total of 3,300 emergency management technicians, pilots earn between Rs. 8,500 and Rs. 9,500 in the state.However, it was also said that only a small section of the employees were expected to go on strike, said B. Prabhudoss, head of marketing and hospital relations, GVK EMRI according to the report.
