K V Sayan, one the prime suspects in the Kodanadu murder and break in, is being questioned about a certain ‘will’ left behind by former chief minister J Jayalalithaa and some property documents kept at the luxury retreat, reports the Times of India. 

On April 24, a security guard, Om Bahadur, who was guarding Gate No 9 of Jayalalithaa’s Kodanadu tea estate, was found murdered. Krishna Bahadur, another guard, was also injured by a gang of at least 11 men, who reportedly came in three vehicles. At least three rooms that were used by Jayalalithaa and her now-jailed aide V K Sasikala were targeted. Even windows were reportedly smashed before valuables taken.

While the police have only acknowledged that the theft of watches and a showpiece, the ToI report suggests that Sayan is being question about a 'will' and 'property deeds'.

“Sayan is not in a fit state to be questioned, as per doctor's opinion. We will apprehend him formally in the Om Bahadur murder case and inquire him,“ a senior police officer told ToI. 

People associated with Kodanadu Tea Estate for a long time, have reportedly told police in their statements that a suitcase kept in one of these rooms contained Jayalalithaa's ‘will’ and other property documents. 

“Sayan will be interrogated if the gang had targeted the house to steal the ‘will’ as ‘instructed’ by brain behind the whole chain of incidents,” the police officer added.

On Sunday, Dr T Sundarrajan, head of the Department of Emergency Medicine at G Kuppuswamy Naidu Memorial Hospital, who is treating Sayan alias Shyam, the second accused in the case, said that he is in stable condition but will be kept in ICU under tight security.

Sayan alias Shyam was in an accident while travelling with his family from Thrissur to Palakkad on Friday night. His wife Vinupriya (27) and daughter Neethu (5) died immediately. Their bodies have been taken to the Palakkad District Government Hospital.
