The Tamil Nadu police have arrested a woman and her son for beating her husband to death. Earlier, it was said that the man was pushed off from the terrace by the duo on Thursday, according to The New Indian Express.

The police also arrested the son’s 18-year-old friend.

The deceased, K Raji (55), a grocery shop owner was taken to the JIPMER hospital where he was declared dead. His wife and son had told the police that he was drunk and had fallen from the neighbour’s terrace.

Few hours fter the death, police found out that his wife, Muniyamma (42) and his disabled son, Vinoth Kumar (21) had pushed the man from the terrace.

On Thursday night, Vinoth, his 18-year-old friend and his mother were in the house when his father came and began abusing the three of them. He alleged that she was having an affair with the youth. The trio became angry and beat him up with wooden sticks which led to his death.

They took the man to the hospital to claim that he slipped from the terrace but the police saw the wounds on his body and informed the Marakkanam police.

Muniyamma told the police that after her son was born without a hand, her husband had become an alcoholic. He had started to call the mother and son “a burden” for him.

The mother and son told the police that they were often beaten up by Raji.

The woman has been sent to the Cuddalore central prison and the two youth to Gingee Borstal school for youths in Cuddalore juvenile home.
