Two restaurant employees who harassed girl hawker in full public view arrested

The News Minute | October 12, 2014 | 09.52 am ISTAfter two employees assaulted a young girl in full public view in Chennai for selling books outside their multi-cuisine restaurant, they were arrested on Saturday.The incident occurred when one of the girl’s friends hurled a stone at the valets of the Barbeque Nation. Even the boy ran away, the girl was caught and assaulted in full public view, said The New Indian Express.Pictures showed the two men, Prem Kumar and Suraj Kumar assaulting the girl in full public view while commuters looked on.According to the girl's younger brother, the staff snatched the books she intended to sell and tore them up despite pleas not to do so, said the report. She had to face another round of hearing from her mother for the loss incurred from the damaged books. The Branch Manager of the restaurant, however, said that customers often complained of harassment from the children who sold books nearby.
