AIADMK leader and RK Nagar MLA TTV Dhinakaran on Tuesday submitted a pen drive containing four video clips of former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa through his counsel, to the one-man commission probing her death, as per a report in The Times of India.

Dhinakaran’s counsel submitted the pen drive containing the footage and evidence of Jayalalithaa’s treatment in hospital, to the Justice A Arumughaswamy panel in a sealed cover.

Advocate Raja Pandian who represents Dhinakaran said that the judge checked the contents of the pen drive on his computer.

“I have given a pen drive to Justice Arumugasamy. It has videos of Jayalalithaa receiving treatment. The judge has seen what was in the pen drive; he has made notings and given us an acknowledgement,” he told reporters.

The Commission had sent summons to Dhinakaran and aunt VK Sasikala to hand over whatever evidence they had of the former CM’s hospitalisation and treatment.

A source told ToI that the video clips were taken over a short period while she was hospitalised while adding that the clips are clearer than the one released by Vetrivel.

Advocate Pandian indicated that Sasikala’s submissions will be given to the Commission soon and said, “She has given me the vakalat and we will submit her documentation soon.”

Meanwhile, jailed AIADMK leader Sasikala’s niece Krishnapriya, deposed before the panel for nearly four hours, according to sources.

She said, “It won’t be right for me to comment on the deposition when the inquiry is on. I have never claimed that I have proof.”

Dr Sudha Seshayyan, who was some knowledge pertaining to Jayalalithaa’s treatment and subsequent death, is expected to appear before the Commission on Thursday, following summons issued to her.

Just a day before the RK Nagar bye-election, expelled AIADMK MLA and Dhinakaran supporter P Vetrivel, had released a 20-second video, apparently of Jayalalithaa undergoing treatment in hospital.

Immediately after the video was released, questions were raised about the its authenticity with opposition parties, including the AIADMK, hinting that it could have been morphed.
