A day after he was disowned by his father, MAMR Muthiah alias Ayyapan, the Managing Director of Chettinad Group and 6 others were booked under charges of criminal intimidation and attempt to murder after a complaint from his father, MAM Ramaswamy. 5. Atleast 14 children were part of 29 bonded labourers who have been rescued from a Chengalpattu rice mill, around 50 km from Chennai. Held in bondage, some of the workers rescued there had spent their entire life inside the mill.
