TN teachers association calls for postponing reopening date due to heatwave

Written by : TNM Staff

The Joint Action Council of Tamil Nadu Teachers Association has appealed to the government to delay the reopening of schools by a week.

In a release, the association said the heat-wave like condition in the state had made it difficult for children and adults to step out of house. It points out that excess heat had already led to the death of over 300 people in Telangana.

With meteorological officials declaring that the temperature would continue to remain very high for the next few days, it would not be advisable to reopen the schools on June 1, the association said.
