In TN SSLC exams, 50 students share second rank with 498 marks

The long wait for SSLC results in Tamil Nadu has finally ended. The state recorded an overall pass percentage of 93.6%, with 50 students scoring 498 and sharing the second rank. As many as 224 students scored 497, sharing the third rank.

Premsudha, a student of SRV Excel Matriculation Higher Secondary school at Rasipuram, and Sivakumar R, a student of Noble Mat HSS, Periyavallikulam, have shared the top rank.

In what has become an almost regular feature of board exams in TN, a large number of students have obtained centum marks in various subjects. A total of 39,398 students scored a centum in Social Science. 18,642 students have obtained centums in Science, 18,754 in Math, 73 in Languages and 51 in English.

The Puducherry and Karaikal regions of the Union Territory of Puducherry which have adopted the Tamil Nadu educational curriculum in Class X (SSLC) public examinations have secured an overall pass percentage of 92.42%.      

Chief Education Officer S Ramalingam released the details on Wednesday of the results of the examination held in March. Of the 17,752 students, who appeared for the examination from the two regions, a total of 16,407 students have come out successful. While the pass percentage for girls was 94.86, boys have established a pass percentage of 89.99.      

Preethi of Amalorpavam Higher Secondary School, P Keerthana of Subramania Bharathi Higher Secondary School in Tirukanoor village and Jaudi Magdaline and P Vaishnavadevi (both from St Joseph of Cluny Higher Secondary School) have secured the top rank in Puducherry.
