Written by : TNM Staff

Hey Bob, a mobile taxi aggregator is all set to begin motorcycle and scooter taxis in Chennai, after starting out in Bengaluru on a pilot basis on Wednesday.

Vishal Kumar, co-founder of Hey Bob told TOI that the company is planning to start its business in Chennai also as it looks like an “exciting market” for two-wheeler transport business. He said, “We need to speak to the government and transport officials. We would have launched earlier but for the floods and their impact on roads in the city. Hopefully, things will be back to normal soon and we'll be able to extend our services to Chennai,” according to TOI.

More than 1000 people downloaded the app in Bengaluru after they announced their operations, he said.

The rates of the scooter and motorcycle taxis will be fixed after having talks with the Tamil Nadu transport officials. Hey Bob is currently charging Rs 10 for first 2km and Rs 5 for subsequent km in Bengaluru.

He also said that a study by his company shows that motorcycle and scooters save upto 70 percent travelling time of an individual, according to TOI.
