The News Minute| November 19, 2014| 10.42 am ISTA salesman’s mistake over the specifications of a cellphone to Tamil Nadu’s former state intelligence IGP landed the showroom’s owner in detainment by the police on allegations of cheating. Amaresh Pujari, the former IGP , accompanied by his wife had entered a cellphone showroom on the ground floor of Express Avenue mall in Chennai and had enquired about the specifications of a popular cellphone with a built-in memory of 16GB, reported Times of India. According to Deccan Chronicle, the salesman there had misinformed Pujari that the cellphone had 32GB capacity, instead of the actual 16 GB. The couple left, however, in half hour they returned calling the owner a cheat, said the report. Shouting at the four salesmen present there, he banged the cellphones on display said the complaint given by the store’s owner which was later withdrawn. Twenty minutes later, policemen took Rajesh, the store’s owner to the police station and detained him for six hours, said the report. Pujari said that it was his right to yell at people trying to cheat him, said the report.
