Scorned Madurai woman burns husband and his family to death

In Madurai, a family of six was charred to death when a woman poured petrol into the house and set it on fire, killing her husband’s family at Kumarapuram, in Madurai district in the early hours of Wednesday.Pandeeswari, aged 25, allegedly went to her husband, Kannan’s house, poured petrol into the house through a window and set it on fire. Thus, a three year love marriage ended badly for the husband and his family in Kumarapuram, Madurai. Kannan and his family were locked inside his house and the house set on fire at around 2 a.m on Wednesday. Unable to escape, Kannan and his family were burnt alive, their bodies found later charred to death, reported Thanthi TV.According to a report in The Hindu, the two had been married for three and a half years and were living separately due to differences in opinion that had cropped up in the marriage. Two days ago, the panchayat of the village tried to help them resolve their differences and directed them to live together, but Kannan refused.Enraged by his refusal, she set fire to the house. The remains of the bodies including two teenagers were recovered later.
