RIP ‘Master of one-liners and puns’: Tributes pour in for Crazy Mohan

Even as news of the tragic demise of legendary comedian and writer Crazy Mohan plunged the Tamil film fraternity and fans into sadness, many celebrities recalled his invaluable contribution to cinema. Mohan Rangachari, fondly known to the world as Crazy Mohan, was declared dead on Monday after he could not be revived following an acute heart attack.

The death of the 66-year-old actor, director, dialogue writer and comedian leaves a void in the heart of Tamil cinema, especially in the genre of humour. He is best remembered for his quick-witted one-liners and Tamil wordplay in films and plays over the years, a brand of comedy in which he ruled the roost among Tamil audiences.

Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu O Panneerselvam took to Twitter to express his condolences to the family and fans of the comedian. He said that Crazy Mohan had captured a special place in the hearts of Tamil audiences.
