Rift grows between TTV Dhinakaran and EPS camp?

Written by : TNM Staff

Out on bail from Tihar Jail in Delhi, there seems to be a growing rift between TTV Dhinakaran and Edapaddi Palanisamy camp, threatening the stability of the TN government

On Monday, Finance minister D Jayakumar had said that the AIADMK deputy general secretary should stick to his stand and keep away from the party.

However, The Times of India reports that, with a shift of six MLAs being enough to bring down the government, about 10 MLAs are said to be backing up TTV Dhinkaran. The government had 122 MLAs on its side during the last floor test.

Responding to Jayakumar, Dhinakaran said that no one in the party had the power to expel him or Sasikala from the party.

Dhinakaran had earlier on Monday said, “I was keeping away from the party because some Ministers had asked that I should be kept away. But when I came out of prison, the cadre of the party came to meet me - both in Delhi and in Chennai. Now I am going to meet (Sasikala) and she will decide my role.”

He had also said that Sasikala has asked him to wait for 60 more days, and if the party is still not united then he will step in to strengthen the party and make sure that divisions don’t harm the party. He also alleged that some ministers were projecting him as a problem to divert attention from the mess they have landed in, reported ToI.

MLA Vetrivel, reiterating Dhinakaran's point said, "Sasikala is the GS and Dhinakaran is the Deputy GS. No one else has a right to decide anything else in the party. These people are not worthy of making such decisions."
