Quack held for sexually harassing TN minor; clinic set on fire

 A quack on Sunday was arrested for allegedly sexually harassing a teenage girl even as some people ransacked and set his pharmacy-cum-clinic on fire, at Vazhapadi, 65 km from Salem, police said.

The 40-year-old man identified as Nawab had studied till Class X but was running a clinic, distributing medicines and giving injections to people, police said.

The standard XII student last evening visited his clinic to buy some medicines for headache when Nawab allegedly gave her an injection, said to be a sedative, following which she swooned. She was then allegedly sexually harassed, police said.

The girl informed her parents on Sunday following which they went to the clinic. On coming to know about the incident, some people ransacked and set fire to the clinic and his two-wheeler.

Nawab has been arrested, police said, adding, the girl has been sent for medical examination.
