PMK leader and former Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss was denied entry into Jawaharlal Nehru University by some students on Thursday.

They started protesting against him alleging that he had made statements against the alleged murder of a Dalit man Illavarasan in Dharmapuri. Later, after he entered the university, they burnt his effigy and continued protesting.

Speaking to the media, Anbumani said that he is not against Dalits but Dalit organizations which lead students into a wrong path. He also added that when he was the former union minister he supported Dalit reservation for the All India Medical Entrance Examinations.
