Officials deny reports of suicide bid by Lankans in Tamil Nadu

The News Minute | November 18, 2014 | 09:29 pm ISTChennai: Officials have refuted reports that some fasting Sri Lankans housed in a special camp in Tiruchirappalli (Trichy) attempted suicide on Tuesday."The Lankans were on protest fast demanding various facilities for the past four days. The talks with them were inconclusive. The Lankans said they would revert with their decision," an official told IANS preferring anonymity.According to him the Lankans are trying to draw attention to their protest."There were no suicide attempts made by the Lankans housed in the camp. They did not consume any sleeping pills or poison," a senior police official told IANS.Trichy is around 350 km from here.With IANS
