Now, a WhatsApp police surrender: Murder accused in TN circulates audio clip

In an audio clip that is doing the rounds on social media and Whatsapp, the prime accused in a case of murder in Tamil Nadu has said that he will surrender before the Krishnagiri town DSP on June 10.

The accused, Asraf Ali Ikkramulla, said that he feared for his life and also demanded police protection for him and his family.

The Times of India reported:

On the morning of May 28, residents of Ramamoorthy Nagar, near Deevattipatti in Salem district, came upon a car that was on fire. The vehicle was stuck in a pit and witnesses saw two people escaping from the burning car. They managed to nab one of them...Inside the car, police found the body of Kuvalaichezhiyan, 43, a land surveyor for Hosur municipality. 

Kuvalaichezhiyan had been kidnapped a day earlier, and police claimed that an affair was the motive for the murder.

The main accused has been absconding since.
