The Madras High court on Monday allowed RSS to carry out marches at 14 places in Tamil Nadu in November, but under several conditions which include wearing full pants instead of shorts and not raising slogans, according to The Times of India.

The Tamil Nadu government had objected to RSS carrying out rallies stating the civic elections in October-end and the recent tension in Coimbatore over the death of the spokesperson of Hindu Munnani leader.  However, the court allowed RSS to conduct the rallies either onNovember 6 or 13.

Both the police and district administration had denied permission to conduct the rallies. The court allowed it but set few conditions. It has asked the cadres to wear proper attire, especially full pants during the rally. The judge also stated that they should not get involved in any unlawful activities and not raise slogans. The court also allowed the police to impose other rules as per law.

The assistant inspector general of police, headquarters, R Thirunavukkarasu had asked for the dismissal of the writ petition in a counter affidavit. He had said that the protests in Coimbatore after the death of the Hindu Munnani Katchi spokesperson C Sasikumar, had caused lot of damage to public and private properties.

“Following these incidents, communal ill-feeling persists not only in Coimbatore but is having reactions in Tirupur, Dindigul, Mettupalayam, etc,” he said in the counter-affidavit, reports TOI.
