The News Minute | January 14, 2015 | 11.10 am ISTObjections to DMK general secretary K Anbazhagan’s petition seeking permission to intervene and asisst the Special Public Prosecutor in a disproportionate assets case have been filed by both former TN CM Jayalalithaa and SPP Bhavani Singh. Justice Kumaraswamy who is hearing the case involving Jayalalithaa and three others then questioned Anbazhagan's abilities. He said “Is he (Anbazhagan) a lawyer? Does he have any training in fighting a legal battle in the court under the provisions of Prevention of Corruption Act?"."Has he (Anbazhagan) made any research on the matter. This will not lead anywhere." Moreover, it would be against the law to allow Anbazhagan to intervene as the party respondent to assist SPP in the case," the judge said, reported PTI. The senior DMK leader who sought permission to assist the prosecution had earlier submitted that his intervention before the appropriate courts at all stages of the trial was to ensure that justice was not derailed by a few "powerful persons".Read DMK leader Anbazhagan files plea to join prosecution in Jayalalithaa DA caseTweetFollow @thenewsminute
