Jayalalithaa distressed over Dr. Swamy’s remarks on TN fishermen boats in Lanka

The News Minute| September 3, 2014| 08.15 am IST TN CM  J Jayalalithaa has written to PM Narendra Modi seeking his intervention on the release of the 15 fishermen abducted by the Sri Lankan navy on Tuesday.She said that it was “particularly distressing” that BJP senior leader, Dr. Subramaniam Swamy had said on TV that he advised Colombo not to allow the release of the boats, reported Deccan Chronicle.She hoped that Dr. Swamy’s views were not the official views of the BJP or the Central Government, said the report. She also urged Modi to take up the issue and ensure the swift released of the 15 fishermen and the 63 boats in Sri Lankan custody, said the report.
