Four members of a marriage party today died and an equal number injured when their car rammed into a bus near Veppur bus stand, about 30 km from Perambalur.

Police said the driver of the car lost control over the vehicle and rammed the rear part of the bus on Saturday morning.

The car was mangled and it went under the bus in the impact of the collision, police said, adding, four occupants were crushed to death.

The injured were admitted to the government hospital here, they said.
