Written by : TNM Staff

Days after SRM group filed a petition urging action against Vendhar movies producer Madhan, an FIR has been filed against the SRM group by the police following more than 60 complaints received in the case.

A medical aspirant student’s parent Jeyachandran has named the SRM group in a complaint stating that Madhan had taken money from them promising a medical seat, based on which the FIR has been filed. The FIR also includes the names of producer Madhan and his associates.

SRM has been booked under Section 34 of the Indian Penal Code. According to this section, if a criminal offence is committed by a group of people, each of the person is liable for the act in the same manner as if it were done by one person alone.

On Tuesday, SRM Group chairman T R Pachamuthu’s legal team submitted a petition to the city police commissioner, urging action against Vendhar movies head S Madhan. He also claimed that Madhan had no connections with the SRM group and was expelled in February from his India Jananayaka Katchi (IJK) party. The SRM group chairman further alleged that Madhan had created fake documents in the company’s name and forged his signatures.

The case came into light when Madhan went missing and a letter was found in his office on May 29. Later, his family filed complaints at the Commissioner’s office. Many parents of aspiring medical students have filed cases against Madhan for cheating and getting money from them promising medical seats.
