An FIR and a bust made of cowdung now hounds EVKS Elangovan

More trouble dogs Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president EVKS Elangovan after his controversial statements against TN CM J Jayalalithaa’s meeting with PM Narendra Modi.

A case has been filed by the Chennai police against Elangovan on the basis of a complaint made by a former employee of the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee Charitable Trust (TNCCT), reported Deccan Chronicle.

Following allegations made by the woman against the leader and the manager of the TNCCT, Narayanan, of involvement in corruption, the police booked the duo under five sections including assault, abuse and the TN Prevention of Women Harassment Act, said the report.

According to TNIE, the woman also alleged that she was verbally abused and assaulted by the two.

Martial arts expert Shihan Hussaini who earlier this year performed the first-ever self-crucification hoping for Jayalalithaa’s return as Chief Minister after her disqualification, on Friday made a bust of EVKS Elangovan using cow dung in Chennai.

AIADMK cadres demand action against him, and other leaders like BJP TN President Tamilisai Soundararajan, demanded strict action. However, Elangovan has reportedly been summoned to New Delhi and is expected to meet senior Congress officials there.
