Entire village in Tamil Nadu 'missing' from population register

The News Minute | December 15, 2014 | 9:00 am ISTA whole village in Tamil Nadu has not been included in the National Population Register.The villagers of Kuchipatti in Kulithalai discovered this when they attempted to obtain the Aadhar car recently for getting better access to government schemes and services, reported The New Indian Express. The villagers had initially cancelled a protest against the district administration when they were refused tokens for appearing for Aadhar cards . However , when there was no change in the issue, they approached the administration which revealed that they had not been featured in the NPR.The village has atleast 20 families, or 128 people. Revenue officials claimed that the villagers had not been deprived of any of the government schemes so far, said the report.
