Director Shankar joins jallikattu protest at Marina

With top stars such as Vijay, Siva Karthikeyan, Raghava Lawrence, RJ Balaji, Sri Priya and Lakshmi Ramakrishnan joining the protestors at the Marina in Chennai, the latest to join the jallikattu protest is director Shankar.

Confirming his presence at the Marina, Shankar tweeted: “I am at marina supporting #jallikattu what a spirit! what a discipline! we need this unity for lot of changes salute to the real heros."

The jallikattu protest began in Chennai a few days ago with just 17 students and gained momentum, with almost all sections of the society joining in. While film personalities have been asked to stay away from the protest, several of them have joined it on their own to express their solidarity.

Director Shankar, who is directing the Rajinikanth starrer 2.0, took time off from his busy schedule to join the jallikattu protest.
