Corporation takes closer look at Chennai's Marina eateries

The News Minute| September 10, 2014| 12.00 pm ISTIt's impossible to imagine Marina Beach without thinking of the numerous little eateries dotting the seashore selling everything from Chinese to South Indian cuisineThe Chennai Corporation, however has found that at least 180 eateries raided by its officials on Monday sold at least one form of harmful food, said The Hindu. Officials found that food handlers mixed rotten vegetables with fresh ones, said the report. Large quantities of oil, fish and packed food were seized by the police. The move was made after the High Court directed the government to regulate vending on the beaches.
