Chennai, however has taken a bold step forward towards removing the social stigma attached with the third gender by conducting a blood donation camp on the occasion of 'Women Equality Day' on Tuesday.Organized by Women and Children (WCF) Hospitals, the camp provided many members of Chennai’s third gender to come forward and donate blood, said The Times of India.Dr. D Rajasekar, chairman and MD of WCF Hospitals told TOI that there should not be any discrimination against transgenders as long as they are medically fit to become a blood donor.Kalki Subramaniam, transgender rights activist was one among the blood donors at the camp.
