BVM appoints new principal amidst discriminatory fee structure uproar

 In a swift move, the Bala Vidya Mandir school management has appointed a new Principal and has officially terminated CEO SS Nathan from his position in the wake of uproar from parents and the teaching body over a dual fee structure programme in the Adyar campus.The management also said that the school will follow "one uniform fee and approach for every child" after criticism from parents and the teaching staff over two separate fee structures were announced for students. On Wednesday, a day before school was set to open, Bala Vidya Mandir issued a press statement announcing the appointment of S Sujata, the exisiting principal of BVM Global school in Perungudi who will be mentored by former principal Sashikala Sriram."The Management Committee has terminated the services of Mr SS Nathan," said the circular issued to parents. On Thursday morning, a number of parents have gathered at the school after the sudden decision to change the school’s top officiating members. Earlier, in the week leading to the uproar, both parents, the former principal Srinivasa Raghavan and CEO SS Nathan unanimously voiced their dissent against the newly introduced fee structure programme that was announced. Read Chaotic fee regulation has consumed Tamil Nadu's private schooling system
