BJP state president receives death threat from alleged 'Amma' supporter

Written by : TNM Staff

BJP state president Tamilisai Soundararajan allegedly received a death threat on Sunday demanding she withdraw her nomination from the electoral race.

The message reads, "If you do not withdraw your candidature, I will run a car or a lorry over you and kill you, Tamilisai. Long live our Amma.”

Soundararajan told The News Minute, “I received the death threaten at 9pm but I saw the message only at 11pm. I do not want to blame anyone for the message. It is written in the message ‘Amma vazhaga’ but it can be a deviating point.”

She has filed a police complaint to Virugambakkam police station. She has also sent a letter to the Election Commission.

Soundararajan is BJP’s candidate for the Virugambakkam constituency. Monday is the last day for nominations to be withdrawn.
