Another petition says Lingaa story copied from Telugu movie

The News Minute | December 10, 2014 | 08:50 am ISTYet another allegation has surfaced over Rajinikanth-starrer Lingaa after a producer claimed that the movie was a copy of a Telugu film.According to the petitioner, Kartheeka representing M/s Balaji Studios the firm had bough the story rights to remake a Telugu film, Indra, starring Chiranjeevi and Sonali Bendre, reported The Hindu. Saying that the main plot of the movie was replicated by Lingaa’s director and production company ,she called for a restraint against the movie’s release.Justice R. Subbaih however, refused a stay, and adjourned the matter to December 12, the day of the movie’s release.Over a previous allegation where a case was filed by P Sakthivel claiming that Lingaa was copied from his movie Uyir Anai, based on the life of Colonel John Pennycuick, Ravikumar the director filed a counter in court saying that Pennycuick’s life was not anyone’s private property. This case has been adjourned to December 11.
