Written by : TNM Staff

Eight AIADMK MLAs led by three former ministers called on Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami at the secretariat on Monday. They demanded that he call for a meeting of party MLAs, in order to ensure transparency within the party.

MLAs Thoppu Venkatachalam, V Senthil Balaji and P Palaniappan, all former ministers, V Panneerselvam, Thusi K Mohan, R Murugan and R Balasubramani met CM Palaniswami and held discussions for 45 minutes.

During the meeting, the MLA reportedly raised five demands. These inluded a meeting of legislative members of EPS faction and discussion on the merger with the rival faction that has now hit a dead end.

After the meeting, the CM and the MLAs, according to TNIE, held separate meetings with party presidium chairman and School Education Minister KA Sengottaiyan and party treasurer and Forests Minister Dindigul C Sreenivasan.

This meeting with the CM comes after MLAs across the state held separate meetings amongst themselves. Several of them have come out in the past to claim that they were being kept in the dark regarding the workings of the party. Leaders of the EPS faction have even alleged that they are being treated like slaves by the top leaders and left out of all consultations.
