34 juveniles escape from Chennai home, 14 return

35 inmates from Chennai's Kellys juvenile home escaped after a clash in the prison on Sunday night.

A total 73 juveniles stay in juvenile home in Chennai's Kelly's home. 4 of them returned and 11 are currently in police custody.

When fourteen of the inmates returned, four of the other juvenile inmates cut themselves in a rage. A few juvenile inmates are still on the run and police has formed a team to catch them.

Advocate Tamilmanian is representing one of the inmates said he had retuned and the gang war was over. 

In July, last year, 14 students escaped from the juvenile home after overpowering the warden. In October, again another 17 and in November eight more kids escaped from the same home.

Most of those brought back say that did so because of torture in the home.
