19 arrested for attack on teacher at Chennai school for allegedly punishing a student

Parents of other students at the school demanded a probe into the assault of the teacher, reported The Hindu. Slogans were raised against Arulanandam, the MD of a marketing firm Rich India, his brother Sebastian and others who allegedly planned the attack on the teacher after he reported punished Arulandandam’s son, said the report. Bhaskar, the teacher is now recovering in a government hospital after the attack by the 20 member gang. All the members said to be part of the attacks are missing, said police according to reports. Facing pressures from different quarters , family members alleged that even doctors were asking them to leave the hospital at the soonest , according to Times of India. However, 19 people were arrested after the CCTV footage was examined. According to Bhaskar, he was hit with a leather belt and chairs and beat black and blue before he lost consciousness. The footage of the alleged corporal punishment inflicted on the class eight child has not been examined yet, said Hindu. Read Protest after mob thrashes teacher for hitting class 8 student
